Position
Description:
We are looking for a full-time Senior Java Developer with
proven experience in delivering deadline-driven, robust
software solutions to join a fast growing software company in
Montreal. This position lends itself most to innovative
candidates who have a high level of confidence in their
ability to translate business requirements into technical
solutions. Individuals who have strong research skills, analytical
ability, and can take ownership of the design, coding, and
implementation of tailored solutions that meet client
specifications are encouraged to apply. Applicants should have
above average expertise in Java, relational databases, XML, and
communications protocol technologies.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Java Developer is
responsible for providing developmental assistance to the
technical integration staff. You will be responsible for
system development, adherence to design standards, and Java-based products.
The Senior Java developer will work singly and in team environments
and will report directly to the CTO. Candidates must possess the key
work habits of adaptability, analysis, collaboration,
dedication, critical thinking, innovation, goal setting, and problem
solving.
Required
Technical and Essential Skills Needed:
The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years experience in a
technical role at a financial services institution including:
- 5+ years providing
solutions for large-scale, distributed systems using Java-based technologies including Java/J2EE, EJB, JMS, JDBC,
etc.
- 5+ years of experience in
writing SQL, experience with Oracle 8/9i, SQL Server 2000
- Competence with web
application servers/frameworks
- Excellent communication
skills in English or French; both is a big plus
A Bachelor’s/ degree
or equivalent experience in computer science or management
information systems is required.
